Cut out pictures from magazines depicting images of what people can be thankful for, such as the sky, a home, parents, etc. Curl the ends of construction paper around a pencil and glue the curls to the sheet of paper to create a "scroll" effect. Glue the pictures from the magazines on the scrolled construction paper. Use a Bible verse, such as Ephesians 5:20 to emphasize thankfulness to God.
Write a Bible verse on card stock or construction paper. Cut up the verse and allow children to place the words in the correct order. This activity is excellent for keeping little ones busy before class starts or when a quick activity is needed.
Teach about communicating with God through prayer with this craft. The pattern is free to access and available at the website below. Cut the pattern of the hands from black construction paper. Assist children in gluing a mosaic of torn multi-colored construction paper to a blue background in the shape of a window. Once the "window" is completely dry, glue the prayer hands on top of the torn, colored construction paper.
Cut a fish pattern from red, blue or yellow construction paper. Punch a hole in the "mouth" or "tail" of the fish, thread 2 inches of brightly colored yarn through the hole and knot the yarn to form a loop. Write the verse found in Matthew 4:19 on the fish with a gel pen or permanent marker.
Print the template of the cross or draw a cross on brown construction paper. Each project requires 4 crosses. Fold the crosses in half, glue and let dry. Glue 2 straws in the form of an X. Attach a 1/2 inch piece of yarn to the center of the X and at the end of the four straws. Write an appropriate Bible verse on an index card. Punch a hole at the top of the crosses and index card. Thread the yarn through the punched holes and tie the yarn end to the straws. Tie a 1 inch piece of yarn to the X to hang mobile.
