Using a number list, lay out the basic numbers from 1 to 10. Make sure that they are in order, from left to right: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 at the end.
Place a piece of paper underneath each number.
Copy the numbers over and over again until they have been memorized.
Use the number blocks and number cards in order to test whether the numbers have been memorized.
Now copy the words that spell out the numbers. Write them over and over again until you have memorized them.
Work on one-to-one correspondence. Using number blocks or number cards, focus on what each number means. For instance, use cards that have a number 1, and then one item, such as a ball or a dog. For 2, make sure that the card has the number 2 and then two items.
Using the one-to-one correspondence cards, memorize how many each number represents.
Memorize the counting of the numbers from 1 to 10.
Focus on learning the numbers by memory as much as possible. Learning numbers takes practice, so be sure that you practice often.
