Arrange for a pizza delivery at party time. To select a time for the pizza delivery, talk to the teacher and find out what time she expects the party to start. If you can't get the time off work to deliver the food yourself, have it delivered. Pizza is one of the easiest foods for a school party.
Send cupcakes in with your child. Arrange to drive your child to school the day of the party and have him bring in the cupcakes that you made or bought at a bakery. This is another easy party food and one that will keep all day. If the school party is for a special occasion such as Halloween, decorate the cupcakes accordingly.
Bring cooked hot dogs and hamburgers to the school at the agreed upon time. You don't want to prepare these too far in advance or they will be cold when you arrive, so make sure it's the last thing you do before leaving for the school. Wrap them in aluminum foil to keep them warm for the trip to school. Find out in advance how many children want hot dogs and how many want hamburgers, and then put in a few extra of each.
Select cookies that will be appropriate for the school party. Most children love chocolate chip cookies, so make a big batch of them or purchase fresh baked cookies from the local bakery. Then, have your child bring them to school with her.
Take items that don't require cooking or baking. If you're pressed for time, not a whiz in the kitchen or don't have a good, local bakery, send snack items such as chips and dips that don't require refrigeration. Alternately, you can send the extra items often forgotten, like paper plates and cups, napkins and plastic forks and spoons.
Keep it simple. No matter what food you arrange for the school party, the most important thing to remember is to keep it simple. Your child's teacher will appreciate this.
