How to Check Your School Report Card Online

Many schools provide online access so that students can check their grades online. It's a good idea to check your grades continually, not just when your report card is published. That way, you'll know your grades before you receive the printed version of your report card. By viewing your grades online before they're printed, you may be able to discuss any errors with your teachers and have the errors corrected before receiving your printed report card. You can't change your grades yourself, but in some school systems, teachers can correct errors and print report cards from their desktop computers.

Instructions

    • 1

Receive an access code from your school. Your grades are private, and schools take measures to make sure that your grades aren't available to the public. You'll need a student identification number and a password to view your grades.

    • 2

Get the Web address to go to to check your grades. The address may be linked from your school's homepage.

    • 3

Type in the access code exactly as it's given to you when prompted. Type in any slashes, dashes or spaces provided in your username or password on the site's grade-access page.

    • 4

Select the option to view your grades. The site will likely have news information for your parents and you to read. Look for a link to view your report card or your grades.

    • 5

Choose the appropriate school term. Your school may operate on a semester system or a quarter system.
