How to Check Your Title 9 Eligibility for School Loans

Title IX was passed in 1972 to provide equal rights in education between boys and girl in every program that receives federal funding including student loans. Title IX covers Perkins Loans, Stafford Loans and Direct Loans for college students. Qualification for student loans is based on a number of factors including financial need and citizenship status. The Title IX coordinator at your school will be able to provide more information about eligibility and status.

Instructions

    • 3

Provide your coordinator with your personal information including your name and Social Security number. Your counselor will check your eligibility and provide the information to you.
