Spanish Camps for Kids

Summer immersion camps provide a great opportunity for kids to learn Spanish quickly. When students practice speaking Spanish all day long, with instructors and native speakers, they will grow comfortable with the language more quickly. You can find Spanish immersion camps for kids in the United States and abroad. Some camps draw both Spanish- and English-speaking campers, allowing children to make friends with peers from other cultures.
  1. Camp Spanglish at the University of Washington

    • The University of Washington’s Global Village Spanish Summer Camp, affectionately referred to as “Camp Spanglish,” offers students ages 13 to 17 the opportunity to live with kids their own age from Spain while they study Spanish with native speakers. The UW Division of Spanish and Portuguese Studies sponsors the program, and students live in UW dorms. In the mornings, English-speaking students receive Spanish instruction, and Spanish-speaking students receive English instruction. Afternoons remain free for outdoor activities and field trips. Students can receive credit for their coursework.
