The University of Washington’s Global Village Spanish Summer Camp, affectionately referred to as “Camp Spanglish,” offers students ages 13 to 17 the opportunity to live with kids their own age from Spain while they study Spanish with native speakers. The UW Division of Spanish and Portuguese Studies sponsors the program, and students live in UW dorms. In the mornings, English-speaking students receive Spanish instruction, and Spanish-speaking students receive English instruction. Afternoons remain free for outdoor activities and field trips. Students can receive credit for their coursework.
