Gately Academy is designed to afford an education to students in grades 4 through 8 who have attention deficit disorder or other learning disabilities. The private school offers a student to teacher ration that averages 9:1, but smaller classes are arranged if the students' needs warrant it. Classes meet for about 6 1/2 hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and for 4 1/2 hours on Wednesday. The curriculum at Gately Academy is approved by the state of Oregon and includes instruction on writing, social studies and fitness. Courses are designed to prepare students to pass the Middle School Oregon State benchmark tests. Financial aid opportunities are available.

West Valley Academy makes its home on three acres of land in western Oregon. The private, not-for-profit school offers education for students in grades kindergarten through 12 that have autism, attention deficit disorder or other special learning needs. Student to teacher ratios in classrooms at West Valley Academy are typically 4:1. Curriculum at the school emphasizes English and mathematics, and students are also required to become proficient in the areas of note-taking, reading comprehension and study skills. Specialized programs for students learning English as a second language and students bridging from high school to college or the workforce are also offered. The school operates from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

Park Academy is located on the Marylhurst University campus just a short drive from downtown Portland. The private non-profit school offers instruction to middle and high school students with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities. Park Academy teaches students through the use of audio, visual and kinesthetic teaching methods. Students are required to complete 24 credits to graduate; courses are offered in the areas of language arts, mathematics and life skills, among others. Students may also partake in activities like yearbook and theater. Financial aid scholarships are available.
