St. Catherine's Academy is a Catholic boarding school with a military tradition for boys and is based in Anaheim, California. The day begins at 6:15 a.m. with academic classes in the morning and sports in the afternoon. 7-9 p.m. is study time and lights are out at 10 p.m. Students also participate in the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program provided by the US Army. Sunset Bay Academy is a boarding school for troubled teenagers ages 12 to 17. The school is based in Rosarito Beach, Mexico, twenty miles south of San Diego, California. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The school aims to provide its students with the necessary tools to succeed in life. Julian Youth Academy (JYA) is a Christian boarding school for troubled teenagers. Though located in Northern California, JYA accepts students from Southern California. The school was founded in 1993 and accepts boys and girls ages 12-17 from any race or religion. Students at JYA enroll in a homeschooling program with admissions accepted on a rolling basis. As JYA is a boarding school, the members of the staff constantly interact with students, creating a bond of trust. This helps students change and improve their behavior.
