Private Schools Near Seattle

The Seattle area houses diverse educational opportunities. Private college preparatory schools, language immersion schools and religious schools are all options. Most schools offer some kind of financial assistance for families who qualify. With small classes and specific mission statements, these private institutions will give your children a well-rounded education, preparing them for future successes both personally and academically.
  1. Boarding Schools

    • Annie Wright School in Tacoma and Auburn Adventist Academy in Auburn are boarding and day schools. Annie Wright's coed students attend preschool through eighth grade. Ninth through 12th grades are girls-only, with a day or boarding school option. Annie Wright is a nonsectarian school with a formal dress code. Tuition ranges from $12,800 to $44,700, as of 2011.

      Auburn Adventist is a coed day or boarding high school with an average class size of 18 students. The school offers a variety of classes within a curriculum based on a well-rounded education. It is associated with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church education system. Tuition fees range from $8,430 to $14,655, as of 2011.

    Christian Schools

    • Life Christian Academy in Tacoma provides Assemblies of God Christian-based education for Pre-K through 12th grade. It is a coed school, with about 975 students as of 2011. Tuition starts at $275 in kindergarten and goes up to $863 per month in high school.

      Eastside Catholic School in Sammamish is a seven-year coed school. Eastside Catholic offers an Options Program for a limited number of students with learning challenges. As of 2011, annual tuition for Eastside Catholic is $16,300.

    All-Girls Schools

    • Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bellevue is an all-girls school for grades five through 12. It is a formal Catholic school with an emphasis on college preparation, with an awareness of the whole development of each student. Annual tuition is $24,675, though this is an all-inclusive fee for books, uniforms, sports and drama.

      The Seattle Girls' School is a small middle school for grades fifth through eighth. In 2011 there was one teacher per six students, to fulfill the mission of SGS to cultivate the individualism of each girl. Contact the school for tuition information. The application requires a fee of $75.

    French Schools

    • Located in Bellevue, the French Immersion School of Washington is a bilingual day school for ages 2 1/2 to 11 years old. The curriculum is based on the French national curriculum. The subjects with American focus are English language arts and social studies. Preschool tuition starts at $470 per month and grades first through fifth fees are $11,860 annually, as of 2011.

      On Mercer Island, the coed French American School of Puget Sound enrolls Pre-K through eighth grade. With small classes and a casual dress code, the school focuses on training children to succeed in both the American and French educational systems. Yearly tuition as of 2011 is $14,450.
