John Hanson French Immersion School is a public alternative school for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. This magnet school teaches through immersion in the French language. The school has a staff that comes from 15 countries.
John Hanson Montessori School is a public alternative school in the southern section of Prince George's County for students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Students are chosen by lottery. The school shares its faculty with John Hanson French Immersion School.
The Julia Brown Montessori School in Laurel is one of four campuses of the school that offers an education to students from nursery school through third grade. The Laurel school is a single-story structure of 3,600 square feet on a 1 1/3-acre lot with two playgrounds. New Hope Academy is an independent international private school. Located on an eight-acre campus, the school offers an education to children from preschool through grade 12. Students represent more than 20 faiths and 35 nationalities. High school students score in the top 10 percent on the SAT nationally.
