The K12 Curriculum school is an online school for students from levels kindergarten to twelfth grade. Students learn at home on the Internet, much like popular study-at-home college courses. The K12 program partners with public schools to offer students free access, while the private school realm charges parents to allow children attendance within the program. K12 also assists some public schools with planning and implementing programs for special needs children.
LearningRx believes in brain training, where scientific brain research is used to exercise the brain for improved cognitive performance. The program believes special needs children can improve upon learning by exercising their brains outside a normal school curriculum. Spatial and three-dimensional problems are used extensively within this program to improve areas of the brain normally left alone by mainstream public school learning.
This institution reaches beyond childhood to include adults who may have issues with literacy. The Lindamood-Bell program promotes learning through programs geared toward combating illiteracy. The program partners with public and private schools to distribute new literacy tools to teachers at all education levels.
The program will test students to discover their levels of reading skill, then work with the students to discover the best type of instruction and the right learning environment. After the tests, Lindamood-Bell strives to create learning environments suited to each unique student's needs for success in reading.
