How to Cite a UC TV Video in APA Format

The University of California has a television network for the purpose of airing educational programs for students. Students have the opportunity to watch live streaming or videos of topics ranging from public affairs, science and humanities to business and educational issues. Students who use these resources as references in research have to cite them in accordance with the American Psychological Association style guidelines.

      Cite references in the bibliography in the following format: Producer's Last Name, First Initial (Producer(s)), Director's Last Name, First initial (Director(s)). Year of video. Movie title. Country of origin. Name of movie studio.

      For example, Morse, L. (Producer), Taylor, A. (Director). 2001. The Ghost of Villa Heights. USA. Urban Harpo Studios.

      Cite references in the body of the paper in the following format when the producer's or director's name is used in the paraphrased text: According to Leonard F. Morse (2001), the main factor for producing a successful film is having enough funding.

      Cite references in the body of the paper in the following format without directly citing the producer's name: The greatest factor that has to be considered in order to have a successful film is to ensure proper funding (Morse, 2001).
