How to Make Your Own Name Writing Sheet

Name writing worksheets are ideal for young students who are learning to write. The worksheets consist of several horizontal grids with heights for lower case letters and upper case letters. A portion of the writing sheet has dotted print or cursive letters that allow learners to trace before practicing writing letters unaided. The ability of educators and facilitators to make several writing sheets quickly is an asset, because it gives students as many opportunities to practice as possible. There are many websites that allow you to create free worksheets quickly and for free.

Instructions

Visit the Amazing Handwriting Worksheet Maker website, and choose a style of handwriting worksheet to make. Choices include print, cursive and D'Nealian styles. On the next screen, pick the "Name and Sentence" worksheet and then complete the fields asking for name and sentence. Rather than writing a sentence, write the name that is to be practiced. Steps 3 through 7 allow you to alter the font, paper orientation, text color and trace pattern. A graphic to the right of the options palette shows how your sheet will appear. When your options are complete, click "Print" to make your writing sheet.
