Insert the included “Run Monty!” CD into your computer and follow the prompts on screen to install the software. This program will allow your computer to communicate with the Mountbatten unit.
Plug the power cable of the Mountbatten unit into an available power outlet and turn the “On/Off“ switch on the front of the unit to the “On” position.
Press the “Learn Mode” button. From here, press any key and a spoken command will describe the function of that key. Run through this portion of the program until you understand the basics.
Select the “Advanced Mode” button on the unit. Voice prompts will walk you through the advanced features of the Brailler.
Plug a PC keyboard data cable into the port on the side of the unit. Sighted users can now type on the PC keyboard and it will come out on the display in Braille.
Connect the data cable on your Mountbatten to the input port on your PC. Transfer documents between the two units by dragging documents from the PC to the Mountbatten icon and vice versa. When documents are transferred to the Mountbatten, they will be converted to braille and when they are transferred to your computer from the Mountbatten, they will be converted to standard text.
