Instructions for the Casio ClassPad 330

The Casio ClassPad 330 is an electronic calculator. It has a large display screen and displays any calculations in a "natural" format, meaning they appear as they would when written by hand. This gives a sense of familiarity when using the ClassPad, which is carried over into the general operations. Although the calculator is capable of displaying advanced calculations, the basic controls will be familiar to anyone. The ClassPad also features a stylus pen, which operates the unit's touch screen.

Switch the ClassPad 330 on by pressing the "On/Off" button, which is located to the top right of the circular "Cursor" key. Alternatively, tap the screen with the stylus pen. The stylus is used for the majority of operations, either by tapping on or dragging things across the display screen. Its operations are basically like those of a mouse pointer; a tap is the equivalent of a click.

    • 2

Tap the "Menu" icon with the stylus. This is located on the "Icon Panel" which is a strip of icons located beneath the main display screen. The icon has the word "Menu" written on it and the image is of a knife and fork with a menu in the background.

There are four different types of the keyboard. They include "Math," "Alphabet," "Catalogue" and "2D." These appear as tabs at the top of the "Soft" keyboard. Select "2D" by tapping the stylus onto it. The ClassPad displays equations in natural format in the way that you would write them in a text book. The "2D" menu allows you to input equations such as "x squared" by simply choosing a picture. As an example, let's assume you want to add together two fractions.

    • 7

Tap the screen where the denominator is displayed ("denominator" is the lower number of a fraction; the denomination of which the numerator is a part). You can also select this section by pressing "Right" on the "Cursor" button in the center of the ClassPad." Tap the number that you wish to enter into this location.

    • 8

Press the "+" symbol with the stylus. This is located to the right of the "Soft" keyboard's number pad. Repeat the process above to enter another fraction to which you would like to add to the previous one.
