Write the different grade levels of school on the left hand side of the chart. Go from Kindergarten through eighth grade. Split the first, second and third grades up into the beginning, middle and end of a year. DRA values stop after eighth grade. Place one grade level per line on the chart.
Write “DRA” value at the top of the chart, off to the right of the grade level indicators. Add in a grid system using a ruler and a marker.
Write the corresponding DRA value to each grade level. You can find the complete list of DRA values online (see References). For example, a child should have a 40 DRA value in fourth grade.
