How to Convert My GPA to a Grade

A GPA, or grade point average, is an overall average of the grades a student received for all classes in a term, year, or course of an entire high school or college career. A GPA is calculated on a scale of 0.0 - 4.0; 4.0 being the best GPA you can receive. If you know your GPA, you can convert it to a letter grade or percentage grade to see what your overall grade point average is on a letter grade scale from A - F and a percentage scale from 0 percent to 100 percent.

Instructions

Calculate your GPA. This can be achieved by using a GPA calculator (back2college.com/gpa). Enter each class you have taken, how many credit hours the class awarded, and the grade you received in that class, then click "Calculate your GPA."

Go to the GPA-to-letter grade conversion chart. Find your GPA on the chart under the "GPA" column. If your GPA is not on the chart, round up or down to the number closest to your GPA.

    • 3

Find the letter grade that corresponds to your GPA in the "Letter Grade" column. You can also view your overall percentage grade in the "Percentage" column.
