Discover the meaning of intelligence, specifically regarding IQ tests. Obtain an officially recognized test by mail from an organization such as Mensa, the international High IQ society, or find an online test, or, preferably, series of tests. Alternatively, compile your own test. Consider questions on concepts such as a missing shape out of a series of shapes, an odd image in a series of images or sentences intended to deduce various abilities, such as grammar and mathematics.
Designate a candidate or candidates for an IQ test. Submit your test to your candidate(s). Each test will have a set number of questions, averaging 30, with only one possible correct reply; or be in multiple choice format. Provide your candidate with a certain amount of time, such as 30 minutes, to complete the test and administer the test under comfortable conditions. Repeat the process for two more tests to obtain a mean score from three tests to ensure maximum accuracy.
Obtain your median score, or that of your designated candidate, and grade it using one of the most reputable intelligence scales. These include the Terman's Stanford-Binet and Wechsler intelligence scales, with the Weschler being the most efficient for predicting future professions. Explain to your candidate(s) the meaning of her score, and that an IQ over 164 signifies genius or near-genius; one of 120-164 indicates superior intelligence; and 100 is an approximate sign of normal intelligence. A score of 70 or below might imply the need for special assistance.
