How to Type in Cursive

Cursive is a style of writing in which one letter flows into the next so that words consist of connected sequential letters. If you are typing on a computer, chances are the program that you are using has a standard font style similar to the type of print that you might see in a newspaper. You can type in cursive, however, once you learn how to alter the font style of the program that you are using.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a new document in your word processor.

    • 2

Click on the font style to open a menu of font options.

    • 3

Click on a font option that resembles cursive writing. Examples include styles such as "Lucida Handwriting" and various "script" options.

    • 4

Type your document. If you set the font style before you begin, all of your text should be in the cursive font style that you selected. If you decide to use the cursive font after you've finished typing, or if you only want to make some of the document appear in cursive, click on the passage that you want to change and drag your mouse to highlight it. Then click on the font style options to select your cursive style.
