Fold a piece of construction paper so it is shaped like a funnel. Roll the paper so one end will fit securely over the top of a paper towel tube or wrapping paper tube.
Tape the funnel along the edges. Place transparent tape along the edge of the construction paper to keep the funnel together.
Place the smallest end of the funnel on one end of an empty paper towel or gift wrap tube. Tape the funnel to the end of the tube using transparent tape or duct tape. The largest opening of the funnel should be facing outward when placed on the end of the tube.
Decorate the outside of the tube. Wrap decorative paper or colored construction paper around the tube and secure in place with transparent tape.
Place the tube end of the trombone on your mouth. Create buzzing sounds with your lips and blow into the trombone.
Wash out an empty ketchup or salad dressing container. Allow it to completely dry overnight.
Fill the empty, dry container with bird seed or small pebbles. Screw the cap back onto the container.
Apply duct tape around the top of the container along the edge of the cap where it meets the bottle to secure it in place.
Shake the container of seeds or pebbles. Fill additional clean, dry containers with different smaller objects to create a variety of sounds.
Wash out a variety of empty tin cans. Place the cans on a towel and allow them to dry completely. Place the lids back on a few cans and leave the lids off a few cans to create a variety of different sounds.
Wrap construction paper around the tin cans. Decorate the cans with stickers or paint.
Arrange the cans side by side in a row. If you have enough cans, add a second row to create a drum set. Tape the cans together or attach them using rubber bands. Use large rubber bands to connect the cans by placing them around the center of each can and connecting it to the next can.
Place the cans upside down on a soft surface with the opening facing down. For the best sound result, place the drum set on a rug, blanket, towel or sweatshirt.
Tap the tops of the drums using pencils, pens, drumsticks or chopsticks. Use a pencil to achieve the best variety of sounds because a pencil contains both a solid edge and a rubber eraser end.
