How to Look up Answers to Fractions

Looking up answers to fractions can be an important skill when you want to check your work or use a computer to assist you. A number of websites can perform mathematical operations with fractions, with some giving you detailed information besides the answer. Understanding how to use these websites is a relatively straightforward process, and after you have these skills mastered, you will be able to determine the answers to a number of basic math problems.

Instructions

  1. Using Google

      Navigate to Google.

      In the search bar type the fraction problem you wish to solve. For example, you could type: 4/7 - 10/5

      Hit "Enter" or select "Google Search". The first result should be the answer to the problem.

    Using WolframAlpha

      Navigate to WolframAlpha.

      In the text input box at the center of the page, type the fraction problem you wish to solve. For example: 4/5 - 10/5.

      Hit "Enter" on your keyboard. The result, in a number of different formats, will be displayed.

      Delete the information in the search bar to enter another fraction problem.

      Hover your mouse over the different results to save the result as an image or copy the plaintext.
