Two fractions that need to be divided can be written as one big fraction by using the inverse of the denominator.

Set up the two fractions so the fraction that is being divided is on top, or to the right, of the fraction that it is being divided by. Example: 1/2 divided by 2/3 would be set up as (1/2)/(2/3).

Find the inverse of the denominator by flipping it. Example: 2/3 becomes 3/2.

Multiply the numerator by the inverse of the denominator. Example: (1/2 )/(2/3) becomes (1/2) X (3/2) OR (1X3)/(2X2).
