Enter your data into the STAT list editor. To access the STAT edit mode. push "STAT" and "1" on your calculator keypad. Once in the STAT edit mode, enter the data for your x variable in list 1, designated L1. Be sure to hit the "ENTER" key after each entry. When you are finished entering the data for your x variable, scroll over to L2 and enter the data for your y variable. Again, be sure to hit "ENTER" after each entry. When you are finished entering your data in the STAT edit mode, return to the home screen by pressing "2nd" and "MODE."
Choose the scatter plot function to display your data. Access the STAT PLOT editor by pressing "2nd" and "Y=." Press "ENTER" to edit Plot 1 and press "ENTER" again to turn on Plot 1. Use your cursor to scroll down and select the display for a scatter plot -- it is the first option in the first row. With the display for a scatter plot highlighted, press "ENTER" to select the scatter plot graph. Check to make sure the XList is set to L1 and the YList is set to L2. If need be, input L1 into the XList by pressing "2nd" and "1," and input L2 into the YList by pressing "2nd" and "2."
Press the "GRAPH" key to display your scatter plot. This will display your graph showing the X and Y axis. If you want a better view of your graph, without the X and Y axes, press "ZOOM" and "9" to perform a ZoomStat.
