St. John's Military school takes a military approach to education. It is an all-boys boarding school that accepts students from the sixth grade, at which time students are around 11 years old. From the sixth grade to the end of high school, students stay on the school campus. As of 2010/2011 school year, the tuition per year is $27,765 and includes all costs of the school except extra needs for personal hygiene, haircuts and allowance. Students have food, shelter and education covered with the cost of tuition.
The Ojai Valley School is a co-educational boarding school that separates elementary and high school into upper and lower school. Students start attending the school as young as pre-kindergarten and can stay in the school through high school. The tuition costs are variable based on the student's grade level, whether the student is a boarding student or a day student, and whether the student needs extra services, like English as a second language.
The Hockaday School is an all-girl boarding school which provides education from lower, middle and upper school levels. Students can start attending Hockaday from the age of four or from pre-kindergarten. The boarding of students starts in the middle school section of study and the school provides day school from pre-kindergarten through high school. Tuition varies depending on the grade level of students, whether the student is a day student or boarding student, and whether the student is international.
St. Margaret's School for Girls is an all-girl boarding school. There are elementary classes which start from pre-kindergarten and work through high school. Students are day students until 7th grade, at which time the school allows boarding. The prices are variable depending on the student's grade level, whether the student is a boarding student or a day student, and whether further services are needed or not. Prices increase each year as students get older.
