A pictograph is a way of representing data through the use of symbols. Similar to a bar graph, a pictograph displays its data horizontally instead of vertically. Each symbol is worth a certain number of items in that data field. For example, suppose you're making a pictograph of the students in a school by grade level, and a picture of a student stands for 50 students, If the 4th grade has 200 students, there would be four pictures of students in the 4th grade row. If there were 220 students in 3rd grade, there would be four pictures in the 3rd grade row as well. Some websites let you input your data and have the pictograph appear before you.
