Prepare the work environment. Lay out a blank sheet of paper or prep the surface you will be making the hand print on. Prepare paint by pouring a generous amount on a paper plate or set up an ink pad for the hand print. Prepare rags or paper towels for accessible cleanup of messy hands.
Coat the palm of one hand in paint or ink by placing a flat hand palm down onto the plate or pad. Make sure the entire palm is saturated with paint or ink.
Place the palm of your hand onto blank paper to make a hand print. Try making different hand prints, varying the spread of the fingers or arching the thumb. As an alternate option, hand prints can be traced, using a marker and outlining the hand print.
Create a jungle animal from the hand print. Select the jungle animal you want to make or study the hand print to see which animal it inspires you to recreate. Turn the hand print upside down to use the fingers as legs and the palm as the body. The thumb can be an elephant's trunk, a tail or a giraffe's neck. Use the palm for the face and the fingers and thumb as a lion's mane.
Use markers or additional paints to draw additional body parts or provide visual shape to the hand print. If the hand print jungle animal is missing a head draw one on, or add hooves to the feet. Draw ears, eyes or other features. Consider making fingerprints to add additional detail instead of drawing, if desired.
Embellish the jungle animal with googly eyeballs, feathers, cotton, faux fur, feathers or anything else your creative mind thinks of. The hand print is just the basis for your animal. You can add whatever you want to create additional detail or define the animal.
