Homeschool yearbooks can include pictures from just your family or from your homeschool group. If you are going to do a yearbook for your family only, a simple book can include pictures of your kids that are mounted. A more complex yearbook includes pictures of projects and homeschool get-togethers. A yearbook for the entire homeschool group should include pictures of each student and parent involved plus pictures of the group meetings and events.
Designing your own yearbook can seem difficult and daunting, but a few ideas will go a long way. If you are doing a yearbook just for your kids, take pictures of them doing school work, participating in a favorite activity or with a completed project. A yearbook for a group could include a page for each family designed and completed by that family, a page for each senior completed by the senior herself, a page for each event such as sports or graduation and a list of all of the members of the group and their addresses and contact information.
There are several options to mount the pictures for a yearbook. A simple yearbook could have pictures mounted using glue and enhanced with handwritten captions and stickers. A desktop publishing program can help you create picture pages that can be designed on the computer and then printed on photo paper. Commercial printers can also provide you with design templates and produce professionally-printed yearbooks.
Binding options also range from simple to more complex. Pages created by hand can be placed in sheet protectors and gathered together in a three-ring binder or a scrapbook. Pages printed using a publishing program can be bound the same way or can be bound at home with a binding machine or taken to a copy shop that will bind them more professionally. If you go with commercial printing, the company will create the pages and then bind them together, usually in a hard cover for better protection.
