How to Cite Reuters in APA Style Format

According to the 6th edition of the "Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association," you cite Reuters, a newswire service, using the same elements as when citing a newspaper. The primary difference is that a Reuters citation will likely not include page numbers. As is the case with newspapers, increasingly, you will retrieve Reuters' stories online. You must indicate this as part of your APA style citation.

      List the last name followed by the initials of the first and middle name of the author(s) of the Reuters' story you are citing in your APA style reference list. An example of how to display author's name is listed below, adapted from the Cornell University Library's website.

      Include the date of publication for the Reuters' article in parentheses after the author's name(s) as shown below.

      Jones, R. C., Stevens, M. A., and Martinez, W. T. (2008, January 15).

      Indicate the title of the article followed by Reuters in italics to complete the citation.

      Jones, R. C., Stevens, M. A., and Martinez, W. T. (2008, January 15). Dow ends in

      positive territory. Reuters.
