Cite books, which will be listed alphabetically by author's surname. The correct formatting for a book citation is the name of the author (last, then first), followed by the title of the book in italics. Then write the out the publication information by listing the city, the name of the publisher and finally the year of publication.
Cite works from other journals or periodicals. Start with the author's name, then the name of the article followed by the name of the journal. Follow this with the date (if a newspaper or magazine) or volume, issue and year (if a monthly journal), and then put the pages numbers on which the article appears.
Cite electronic sources. Electronic sources can be a bit trickier because all the pertinent information is available. Fill in as much as you can (author, title and publication, with dates if it is a journal) and be sure to end all citation of electronic sources with the URL of the website.
Organize all works in the bibliography, regardless of the type of publication (e.g., book, journal, website) alphabetically by author's last name. If there is no author (such as in the case of some electronic sources), treat the title as if it is an author's last name for the sake placing it alphabetically.
Double space your entire bibliography, including within in an entry that is more than one line long.
Indent the second and all subsequent lines of an entry.
