Gather information about the eBook, such as the author, title, publication date, and the URL used to access the book. Write this information on an index card so it is organized and easy to refer to when needed.
Add a listing for the eBook on your Reference page. Write the author’s last name, a comma, the first initial and a period. Next, include the publication date in parenthesis, followed by a period. The title of the book should be written next and italicized. Lastly, include the URL of the eBook. If the eBook was free, write “Retrieved from” before the URL. If the eBook must be purchased, write “Available from” before the URL. For example:
Smith, J. (2009). Tales From the Deep [italicized]. Available from http://abcbooks.com/fictionlibrary/12345.html
Create an in-text citation for the eBook wherever you refer to this source in your paper. In parenthesis, write the author’s last name, a comma and publication date. Place this information at the end of your sentence, but before the period.
