Folk Art Schools

The term "folk art" encompasses works by self-taught artists in a variety of media. A quilt, a weather vane, a painted portrait, a piece of pottery or furniture, a musical instrument or even a musical performance can be folk art. According to the American Folk Art Museum, folk art can be defined as artistic achievements by ordinary people that "provide a window into the lives of individuals and communities throughout history."
