Write down exactly what you want to do. Building a new university is a substantial undertaking, so be clear in your ideas. Make a list of your expectations, including why and how the Rotary Club should help. This will focus your attention on the task in hand.
Call Rotary Club International for information about the type of funding programs and projects that they work with. Find out if building a new university is a project that is something within their capabilities.
Get help from the Rotary Foundation. This section of the Rotary Club provides donations, scholarships and grants, so seek their advice on 866-976-8279. Speak to them about your idea. Keep the list you created in Step 1 near by, so you can refer to it when you are asked questions.
Join your local Rotary Club and get involved with projects. Show your willingness to support the organization and be active in the community by volunteering. Read "Rotary Basics" online, to get a clear understanding of the guiding principles of the organization -- such as its "New Generation Service," that implements programs the promote positive change for youth.
Consult your local group. Explain that you want to build new university, and request your group's feedback. Make sure you have detailed information prepared, so your idea is coherent. It might be that other members have a similar idea, in which case you could consider fundraising together.
