Chicago Bartending Schools

In Illinois, the Liquor Control Commission governs alcohol distribution. The commission require servers to obtain a license by successfully completing a Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education Training program, also called BASSET. The BASSET license is renewed annually and requires not only completion of an approved curriculum, but application as well. Bartending schools in Chicago are required to train in accordance with the BASSET curriculum for licensure. Schools are located in various parts of the city and also offer on the job training and job placement assistance.

    • Elite offers a short class time of one to two weeks. After completing BASSET training, there are apprenticeship programs and job placement assistance. Classes begin every Monday.
