Elite Bartending School offers a 40-hour program held in Club Play, a multi-level, 10,000-square-foot South Beach night club. The club has hosted events for hip hop celebrities such as Sean "P Diddy" Combs, Lil Wayne and Flo-Rida. The school was recently renovated and features three fully-functional bars with liquor bottles and computer cash registers. The $450 course is two weeks long and involves 40 hours of classifying, mixing, pouring and garnishing various drinks including mojitos, margaritas and Manhattans. Additionally, students learn basic bartending rules, how to spot fake IDs, customer service and computer training. Quizzes or exams are given during each class. Class schedules are flexible and available morning, afternoon, night or on weekends. Parking is available.
Ace Bartending Academy offers hands-on training in a fully-equipped bar. During the 30-hour course, which costs $599, students learn how to mix more than 200 popular drinks. Students also learn basic bartending terms, brands of alcohol, what type of glasses and garnishes to use for each drink and legal and health requirements of bars. Students are taught job interview techniques and upon graduation have access to job postings and other job placement assistance within 60 miles of the school.
ABC Bartending School is a licensed facility regulated by the state of Florida. The school offers the chance to learn mixing and pouring techniques for more than 150 different cocktails and shots, as well as beers and wines. The $399 class also covers how to set up a bar, shift changes, customer service, money handling and close out procedures. Students can also learn about catering private parties and how to flip bottles like a pro. Job placement assistance is available through the agency's full time placement director. Classes are offered in English and Spanish.
South Beach Bartending School is run by Derek Fonseca, a Harvard Bartending School graduate. The staff has more than 20 years of combined experience in bartending and management. The school offers an intensive 10-day, 40-hour course which covers the basics of mixing the 100 most popular cocktails in South Beach. The $495 class also covers alcohol awareness, bar etiquette, cash handling and customer service. Training schedules are flexible and offered during the day or at night.
