Located along Weber Road near Highway 67 and County Road D, the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center (MARMC) School of Radiologic Technology is close to the St. Francois State Park and the Farmington Regional Airport. With a 22-month medical program of coursework in subject areas such as English, math and computers, the school also features classes in human diversity, intravenous therapy and anatomy and physiology. MARMC school only awards an Associate of Science in Medical Technology in Radiology.
Situated between Route 32 (West Karsch Boulevard) and Maple Street, Farmington's National Academy of Beauty Arts School is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. With coursework in subject areas such as hair and skin care, basic safety and sanitation, manicuring and pedicuring, and salon management, the school gives certificates and post-secondary diplomas. The locally-owned facility also has several financial aid programs available for candidates who qualify; apply well enough in advanced to optimize the amount of assistance you may receive.
Just west of Dixie Kohn Drive, the Mineral Area College sits along Flat River Road in St. Francois County. Offering a wide-array of post-secondary education in law-enforcement and fire science, the school features several other classes in subjects areas including English, geography and history. Students have the option of attaining certificates, diplomas and associate-level degrees in various subject areas including automotive collision technology, nursing or medical coding, welding and electrical technology, and deaf communication studies.
Part of Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Central Methodist University is also along Flat River Road near Highway 67 and route 32. The school offers associate, bachelor and master's degrees in subject areas that include accounting, child development, criminal justice, and elementary education. Central also has a host of on-line and adult education coursework available. Federal student aid is available for qualified applicants. Student who apply should do so well before March 15.
