Cosmetology

• The study of cosmetology includes a variety of personal care specializations, including cosmetics and nail care. As of early 2011, Aveda Institutes offer cosmetology studies in Washington, D.C., and in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin. Classes are also available in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, and in Melbourne, Australia. Several of these schools offer specialized training in nail technology or manicuring.

Esthiology

• Esthiology is the study of skin care. Aveda Institutes offer training in esthetics and massage at several locations across the U.S., Canada and Australia. Training is offered in the same states as for cosmetology, except for Vermont. Esthiology training at can also be found in British Columbia, Canada, and Melbourne, Australia. Massage therapy training is available in all of these states, excluding Alabama.

Hair Care

• Education on hair care at the Aveda Institutes is available in hair design, barbering and cutting specializations. Studies in these three areas of hair care are available in the same states as for cosmetology. Training is also available in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, Canada, and in Melbourne, Australia.

Spa Training

• In addition to salon training programs, Aveda Institutes also provide specialized education in spa training. Training is offered in the same states as for cosmetology, except for Vermont. Spa training is also available in British Columbia, Canada and Melbourne, Australia.

Part-Time Studies

• Part-time studies at Aveda Institutes provide students with more time to earn a living or perform other responsibilities while acquiring an education. Aveda Institutes offer part-time education opportunities in cosmetology and esthiology. Part-time studies in cosmetology are available in Alabama, New York, Texas, Utah and Vermont. Part-time studies in esthiology are available in all of these states except Vermont.
