Draw a circle using a compass. The diameter of this circle does not matter; the pie's size does not alter the size of the angles within it. Mark the center of the circle with a dot.
Place the straight part of the protractor between the circle's center and a random point on the circumference. Draw a straight line.
Consult your table to determine the first item's percentage. Multiply this value by 3.6 to calculate the angle degrees of this item on the circle. For example, if cats have 35 percent of the market share, then their corresponding angle on the circle is 35 × 3.6 = 126 degrees.
Place the straight part of the protractor on the straight line you have drawn. The center of the straight part must be directly on the circle's center. Measure the desired angle on the protractor's curved part and mark the spot.
Align the protractor's straight part between the circle's center and the angle mark. Draw a line, beginning from the center and ending on the circumference. The section you have created corresponds to the first item of your table.
Repeat the process to create the sections of the rest of the items. Write each item's percentage inside or next to its section. Use different coloring pens to distinguish each section. Create a legend near the bottom of the paper, explaining the item each color represents.
