1987 Toyota Celica Performance

Toyota manufactured the front-wheel-drive Celica between 1970 and 2006. In 1987, Toyota offered several body styles for the Celica line. Performance levels differed slightly among the available1987 models, but all were considered moderately sporty in their day.

    • The 1987 ST Sport Two-Door (2D) Coupe, the GT 2D Liftback and the GT 2D Convertible models are capable of producing 115 horsepower. The GT-S Sport 2D Liftback and GT-S Sport 2D Coupe models produce 135 horsepower.

    Torque

    • ST Sport 2D Coupe, GT 2D Liftback and GT 2D Convertible models produce 124 foot-pounds of torque. The GT-S Sport 2D Liftback and GT-S Sport 2D Coupe produce approximately 125 foot-pounds of torque.

    Fuel Economy

    • The ST Sport 2D Coupe and GT 2D Liftback return 27 mpg (miles per gallon) in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The GT 2D Convertible return 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. The GT-S Sport 2D Liftback and the GT-S Sport 2D Coupe return 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
