1994 Ford Thunderbird Performance

The Ford Motor Company released two different models of their Thunderbird series in 1994. The consumer had access to the Thunderbird LX and the Thunderbird Super Coupe.
  1. Horsepower

    • Both 1994 Thunderbirds models featured a 3.8-liter, six-cylinder engine. The Super Coupe model was fitted with a supercharger. The LX model offered 140 horsepower, while the Super Coupe offered 230 horsepower.

    Torque

    • The turning effect produced when force is applied to a rotational axis is referred to as "torque," according to NASA. The LX Thunderbird offered 215 foot-pounds of torque. The Super Coupe Thunderbird offered 330 foot-pounds of torque.

    Fuel Economy

    • The 140 horsepower Thunderbird models featured a four-speed automatic transmission; they offered 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The 230 horsepower Super Coupe models were available with a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission. Models with the automatic transmission achieved 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. Models with the manual transmission reached18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
