How to Learn German to English on a CD

If you're a native German-speaking person and you want to better your understanding of the English language, there is a wide variety of different CDs that you can use to do just that. These CDs, which are produced by a number of different companies, are programs that you can use to learn both simple and complicated phrases. They can put you on the road to mastering the English language in no time.

      Use Rosetta Stone. Rosetta Stone is a language learning tool that you can install from a CD onto your computer. It features exercises and utilities that are designed specifically to help German speakers learn the English language in just a few months. As of January 2011, the Level 1 Rosetta Stone CD set costs $249. (See Reference 1.)

      Use Talk Now!. Talk Now! is a series of interactive language courses on CD-ROM designed for use on a computer. Talk Now! can help German speakers learn English or one of an advertised 102 other languages depending on the personal preference of the user. As of January 2011, Talk Now! for beginners costs $39 and is available in a wide variety of package bundles based on your own preferences. (See Reference 2.)

      Use English for German Speakers. English for German Speakers is a series of audio books recorded by Dr. Paul Pimsleur. They are available both on CDs that work in a regular stereo or in your car and as MP3 digital downloads. Each 30-minute disc focuses on a different area of communication including straight word translations, conversations and more. Each unit is sold individually for $5.99, or you can purchase a set of five units (total of 2.5 hours of listening time) for $26.49. Prices are effective as of January 2011. The website also lets you download the first unit as a free sample. (See Reference 3.)
