Write down a list of the thoughts you want to express. Make notes beneath each large thought topic that provide more detail about each thought. You may want to discuss the thoughts out loud with someone if you are struggling to express them in writing.

    • 2

Write in the margins between each thought topic to build coherence between the thoughts. This can include transitional phrases and words, as well as key themes in the topics that relate to one another. The margins should provide a space for you to relate your topics and develop coherent connections.

    • 3

Use a word processor to write one paragraph for each main thought topic. Use the added descriptions beneath each topic to elaborate on the thoughts, as well as your margin notes to develop the transitions between the thoughts. Read the paragraphs out loud to hear the coherence of relation and transition between each thought topic.
