How to Obtain a Real Estate Appraiser's License in Florida

Obtaining a real estate appraisers license in the state of Florida requires the completion of multiple requirements. There are two types of real estate appraiser licenses available in Florida: a residential appraiser, and a general appraiser. The residential appraiser is limited to appraising residential properties of less than four units. A general appraiser is qualified to appraise any type or size property. Both licenses require the applicant to complete class work and a trainee period, and also pass an exam and background check. Applicants must be 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma to begin the trainee process.
