Grants for Pregnant Woman

The government of the United Kingdom offers grants to help women through pregnancy, according to Direct.Gov.UK. These grants, available only to UK citizens, are called the Sure Start Pregnancy Grant and the Health in Pregnancy Grant.
  1. Purpose

    • The Health in Pregnancy grant is meant to help pregnant women with the medical costs inherent to pregnancy. The Sure Start Grant aids parents in preparing for the baby's birth.

    Eligibility

    • The Health in Pregnancy Grant is available to residents of the UK that are at least 25 weeks pregnant and have been given advice from a doctor to keep the baby healthy. Pregnant women can get the Sure Start grant if they are receiving economic assistance from the government and are expecting within 11 weeks.

    Payment

    • 190 pounds are awarded to recipients of the Health in Pregnancy grant, according to Direct.Gov.UK. The Sure Start grant awards 500 pounds per baby.
