    • Opened to the public in 1929, Amarillo College is a two-year school that offers a graphic design course. The program instructs students in computer design concepts and procedures, computer graphics hardware, electronic imaging techniques and vector-based graphics. The computer illustration course shows students how to properly use various software programs to manipulate photo and digital images in order to construct an advertisement for a print or digital magazine. In the history of communications graphics course, students will learn about the evolution of graphic arts as it relates to the history of art. The art graphics fundamental class spotlights two-dimensional design and the specific principles of line, color and texture.

    • Central Texas College was founded in 1965 and is located in the city of Killeen. In order to equip all students entering the graphic design field with the capability to create both computer graphics and print graphic art, this school has designed a graphics and printing technology program focusing on both forms of graphic design. This course of study features classes on typography design skills, digital publishing, digital imaging fundamentals and advanced skills, publication design, darkroom techniques for print photography and computer technology skills and techniques. The portfolio development for the graphic design class shows students how to construct an effective portfolio in order to gain an entry level designing job in an advertising firm or other organization.

    Kilgore College

    • Opened to the public in 1935, Kilgore College is located in the town of Kilgore and offers a wide variety of classes and programs in computer sciences, cosmetology and industrial management. The advertising and graphic design program featured at Kilgore College instructs students on typographic design, digital publishing, basic graphic illustration design and digital imaging. After successfully completing this course, the student will receive a 30-hour certificate in graphic design. Students will be able to apply for financial aid through this school's Federal Direct Loan Program as well.

    The Art Institute of San Antonio

    • The Art Institute of San Antonio's graphic design program allows a student to earn an associate of science degree after completing the necessary 105 credit hours. Some of the required courses in the graphic design degree program include digital imaging, rapid visualization, prospective drawing, digital illustration, concept design, typography and design fundamentals. Other techniques such as color fundamentals, editorial design, observational drawing and collateral design are taught by class instructors during this school's graphic design course.
