This nonresident training course deals with subjects such as anatomy, physiology, first aid equipment, fundamentals of patient care, rescue, transportation during emergencies, poisoning, emergency procedures, toxicology, diet and nutrition, health care administration and many more.
These training courses are for those who are in the field of health care in the Navy. After finishing the training course, trainees will have sufficient knowledge in the history of hospital corps in the U.S. Navy, health care administration and other emergency health care procedures.
The Construction Electrician course deals with safety in the work environment. The training tackles safe work practices; installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of generators and other equipment and methods for load calculation requirements in electrical systems.
After this course, trainees can also advance to other related courses such as the Basic Construction Electrician, Intermediate Construction Electrician and Advanced Construction Mechanic. Other courses deal with more advanced topics in electronics and construction.
Engineering Aid courses deal with the principles and fundamentals of construction of timber, steel, mechanical and electrical systems. Trainees will also be able to do field tests and survey equipment in order to gain experience. Engineering Aid courses will cover different computing techniques for horizontal and vertical curves, levels, traverse and triangulation.
The engineering aid nonresident training course comes in three parts. The first training course deals with concrete design and soil testing and the second training course deals with the materials of construction and computations. The third training course covers the mathematics of engineering and the different drafting equipment.
The journalist course deals with the principles of managing public affairs, dealing with mass media, developing relationships with the community, planning for special events and preparing the speeches that personnel may give regarding different situations.
The journalist course also tackles basic news writing, speeches, accidents, writing for magazines, copy editing, disseminating Navy news and different writing styles for publications. Other topics covered in the course are photography, photojournalism, broadcast writing and interviewing.
