OSHA General Industry Training Courses in Ohio

Several options are available for obtaining OSHA general industry training in Ohio. There are online courses and classroom training courses. Courses are offered in the community or a trainer can be hired to come to a facility and teach a group of people. A variety of choices make it possible for anyone to receive training in a format that meets their needs and schedule.
  1. Classroom Courses

    • Traditional learning

      The Mid-America OSHA Education Center offers classroom courses in the Dayton, Ohio area. Their courses are planned cooperatively with OSHA, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Ohio Valley Construction Education Foundation and the Sinclair Community College. They offer the 10-hour general industry course, which is a one-day course, and the 30-hour general industry course, which is a four-day course.

      If you prefer, an OSHA authorized outreach trainer will come to your facility in the Dayton area and conduct a 10-hour or 30-hour course for a group of people. The 10-hour course is given in one or two days, while the 30-hour course is given in three or four days. The person or group paying for the course can choose the number of days allotted to complete the course.

    Online Courses

    • Online learning

      Online courses are also available for Ohio residents. These courses are accepted by OSHA in every state. The 10-hour course consists of eight modules that take 50 minutes to two hours each to complete. It is possible to complete the course in one day, though you have up to six months to complete it. According to OSHA Campus Online, the 30-hour online course consists of 23 modules that take one to two hours each to complete. You can take up to six months from the start of the course to complete it. Downloadable study guides are available for each course.

    • The 10-hour course provides entry-level general industry information to help workers recognize and prevent hazards in the workplace. It covers OSHA policies and procedures related to general industry safety and health information. The 30-hour course provides additional training on more specific hazards in the workplace and covers a comprehensive safety program. OSHA Training Dayton, Ohio states that upon completion of each course you will receive a training certificate.
