How to Create Online Training Courses

Online training course allows you to break down the barriers of geography to share or teach information to others. Using an online platform you can share files, audio or video class lectures with attendees attending your lecture online. One of the quickest and easiest ways to create online training courses is using a presentation program, such as PowerPoint. Online training courses can also be created using audio, video, PDF files, emails, teleseminars or webinars.

Instructions

    • 1

Identify the format to deliver your online training course. Options include audio files, videos, presentations or email.

    • 2

Create an outline of the material the training course will cover. The outline should include the title of the course and each of the topics within the course.

    • 3

Fill in the details under each topic. Go back to the outline format and write descriptions or bullet points of subcategory information that should be covered for each topic in the outline.

    • 4

Gather any supplemental information such as pictures, graphs or other information to support the information in the online course.

    • 5

Create the rough draft presentation or lecture. Using the outline as a guide create the online course presentation. How the presentation is put together depends on which format being used to deliver the online course. For example, if the online training course will be delivered as an audio file, the course should be recorded and converted into an MP3 file so it can be shared online. If the online training course is being delivered in a presentation format, slides should be created for the presentation and put in order, and the complete presentation should be uploaded to the venue where the lecture or presentation will be given.

    • 6

Review, edit and refine the presentation before deploying it to an audience. Practice makes perfect when creating online training courses. Carefully review the information you are presenting for completeness, accuracy, spelling and grammar errors, regardless of which format the course is being delivered in.

    • 7

Test the course. Send out the course to employees, friends or other people you know to provide feedback. Incorporate appropriate feedback into any final edits to the course.

    • 8

Create the final version of the course.

    • 9

      Distribute the online course.
