Single female parents who demonstrate significant potential in terms of personal development, leadership within their community and excellent academic results are typically favored. The student loan repayment grants are available for single mothers who offer their skills via community volunteer work for at least eight hours a month. The overall duration of the volunteer work is dependent on the level of student debt that needs to be repaid. Mothers already employed in teaching or helping professions are not required to undertake any further volunteer work and are eligible for grant payments under the scheme.
Community projects that focus on initiating and developing women's healthcare centers are eligible for support grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the Community Centers aid program. These grants are aimed at assisting organizations that improve access to healthcare facilities and help educate women on preventative measures to keep healthy.
Nonprofit organizations that assist women on low-incomes or from underprivileged backgrounds are eligible to apply for funds. Community groups that have ties with academic health centers can also apply for assistance. Candidates for support under the Community Centers scheme are required to submit a finance plan and evidence of how their organization focuses on improving women's health.
The Women's Business Center Initial Grant (WBCIG) is funded through United States Small Business Administration funds. WBCIG funds assist nonprofit organizations initiate and develop community-focused business centers for women across the United States.
Firms eligible for assistance are those that offer technical support to females wishing to become business leaders in areas including financial administration, managerial roles and sales and marketing. Organizations are also required to have a significant number of female candidates from socially deprived backgrounds. Grant payments in excess of $100,000 can be awarded under the WBCIG program, but business centers are required to match any award given with further stimulus investment.
