How to Register for MCSE

The Microsoft Certified System Engineer, or MCSE, is a certification issued by Microsoft. Microsoft asserts that attaining an MCSE certification makes you a valuable asset to a company in the IT field. To become MSCE certified, take the required exams issued by Microsoft. The MSCE requires you to pass multiple exams. You are able to register for these exams at the Prometric website.

      Access the Microsoft Training Catalog (see Resources) and choose an exam from the MCSE list.

      Record the number of the exam so that you may register for it.

      Access the Prometric website (see Resources). Click on the "Locate A Test Site" link to locate the site nearest to you. Click on the "Search for Seat Availability" link to find available exam times.

      Click the "Schedule an Appointment" link to reserve a seat. Follow the onscreen instructions and complete the required payment information. Prices vary but average around $125 per test, as of 2010.
