Individuals interested in a career in forensic auditing can take a professional certificate program in forensic accounting. The program is comprised of core and elective courses that allow students to cater their education to their personal area of interest. Courses are offered in both classroom-based and online format.
Core courses are comprised of an introduction to forensic accounting, the prevention and detection of fraudulent financial reporting and an introduction to litigation consulting and forensic accounting. Students also choose from electives that include an introduction to corporate taxation, advanced financial statement analysis, forensic case studies and dealing with government investigations.
Students must successfully complete an examination at the conclusion of the course for credit. Each course taken in the professional certificate program also counts toward continuing education credit and may be applied toward other certificate programs as well.
